The CEREC Same-Day Crown Process
CEREC same-day crowns use the latest technology to streamline your dental care.
Here are the steps to the CEREC crown procedure:
- Initial exam — First, we will assess your tooth to determine if you need a crown.
- Tooth preparation — If necessary, we will remove any decay or damage and shape your tooth to hold the crown.
- Digital impressions — Instead of messy impressions, we will use an intraoral camera to scan your teeth and create a 3-D image.
- CAD design — Next, with our Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, we’ll create a precise model of your ceramic crown.
- Milling — We’ll send the design to our CEREC milling machine. It will create your crown from a solid piece of ceramic.
- Polishing and placement — Once we polish the crown and check the fit, we’ll cement it in place.
